| Description of Services: | The facility includes waste recycling, waste treatment, and waste disposal operations. The recycling operation is comprised of a material recycling facility (MRF) where partially-separated commercial and municipal solid waste (a combination of paper, plastic, and cardboard) is manual separated and baled for subsequent off-site transfer. The waste treatment operation includes a hazardous waste stabilization unit that mixes liquid wastes (mainly oily water and leachate) with dry solid wastes prior to on-site landfill disposal. The facility operates two separate landfills – one for hazardous waste (referred to as the Wingmoor Farm (West) landfill) and one for non-hazardous waste (referred to as the Wingmoor Quarry Landfill). The facility is also permitted to operate a clinical waste transfer (CWT) station at the site but this capability is used infrequently. |
