Description of Services:Although the IEG facility first opened for waste management in 2005, it remains actively under expansion. Current capabilities include liquid and solid waste storage, incineration/burning of liquids (primarily oils) and some solids (including the burning of paper and cardboard in open burning facilities), drum and intermediate bulk container (IBC) cleaning and crushing, and the processing of industrial generated recyclables (plastic, aluminum, and other metals) for subsequent off-site transfer for final recycling. IEG also cleans oilfield equipment (specifically pipeline pigs) at the site. Dangerous waste (Class I) and non-dangerous waste (Class II) landfill cells are currently under construction at the site, as are a variety of planned improvements, including new air pollution control equipment for incinerator units, a new office and laboratory building, new weighbridge, new radiation monitoring equipment, and new waste storage improvements – all which will reportedly be completed by the end of 2011.

Historically, the primary waste received at the site for treatment has been waste oil, but the facility is also licensed to accept a wide variety of dangerous wastes for incineration treatment including petroleum contaminated soil, oily sludges, oily rags, paint residues, spent chemicals, waste pharmaceuticals and medical waste. Various types of industrial wastes, including biodegradable food wastes, non-hazardous domestic waste, packaging wastes (such as plastic and metal cans), and other similar types of non-dangerous wastes are also accepted for incineration treatment or recycling. Note that the facility only accepts recyclables from its industrial customers, and approximately 60% of this waste stream is derived from on-shore operations, with the remaining derived from off-shore operations.
