Description of Services: | The facility primarily burns bituminous waste coal reclaimed from former coal mine sites or active strip mines. Coal from each mine is stored in a separate pile, so the BTU value of each pile remains constant. 650 tons of coal are burned daily in the combustor to produce steam, which drives turbines that produce electricity. |
