Description of Services:The facility conducts the following operations:
  • Landfilling: Non-recyclable, non-crushable inert materials, such as concrete pipe, bricks, asphalt, are landfilled as part of mine reclamation in an unlined pit.
  • Crushing for Roadbase: An outside company brings in equipment to crush waste concrete into Class II roadbase on an as-need basis. This contractor also works with customers, delivering road base according to their schedule. Class II roadbase is also tested per Cal Trans specifications, and sold to construction companies in Southern California.
  • Screening for Top Soil: Excavated soils are screened, and stockpiled inside the inert landfill. Past disposed green waste is also screened and added to the mix. Top soil is sold to landscaping companies in Southern California.
  • Screening for Fill Dirt: Mixed loads of concrete (loads containing dirt) are screened, and stockpiled for sale to construction companies in Southern California.
  • Drilling Muds Treatment: Drilling muds are discharged from tank trucks into a series of three chambers or dirt pits, each one slightly higher than the other to facilitate settling of solids, and clarification of liquids. Water is pumped up to a cone-bottom tank, and a polymer is added to enhance separation. Clarified water is pumped to a storage tank, and used for dust suppression. Solids taken from the dirt pits, and from the cone-bottom tank are added to the Fill Dirt screening plant, and stockpiled with other dirt for sale.
  • Dry Wall Crushing: Dry wall is stockpiled on a plastic liner, and crushed with a loader. The crushed drywall is shipped out to a company in Bakersfield, CA for further processing into a soil amendment.
