Description of Services:DTC is a barge cleaning/liquid recovery and glycol recovery facility. DTC Environmental Services, Inc. receives and cleans and repairs oil, oil residue, and chemical tank barges along with dry-cargo hoppers. DTC is a mobile facility, but the facility has three cells, numerous dead-men and two barges that have been placed onto the shore to act as landings. As a stationary facility, DTC is capable of receiving and cleaning various sizes of barges. Most commonly, the sized of the barges received are 10,000 barrel barges. Although the facility and personnel’s capabilities are not limited to this size, it is most common.

DTC has four trucks that are used off site for barge cleaning. The two trucks used at off-site locations are vacuum units and capable and licensed to haul hazardous material and hazardous wastes.

The facility removes and stores as much of the materials as it can from the barge and stores it before the barge is cleaned. Materials removed from the barges and hoppers are stored in ASTs and container boxes. These materials will be sold as product. The only wastes generated at the site are the materials used when the barges are cleaned. Liquids are used to clean the barges and hoppers. The wash rinse water from the cleaning operations are stored and then removed from the site and disposed as a hazardous waste or a non-hazardous waste.
