Description of Services:GTS is permitted as a solid waste handling facility. In addition to a fleet of box van, vacuum, roll-off, and tanker trucks, there is a ten day hazardous waste transfer facility at the Macon site. GTS can accept all types of non-regulated waste in drums, totes, and in bulk. Examples of non-regulated wastes include oily water, latex paint, purge water, contaminated soil, and neutralized water. Oily water is the largest quantity waste stream received at this site. Non-regulated wastes are solidified onsite and have been shipped offsite for disposal.

The primary treatment activity onsite is solidification of non-regulated waste. Incoming waste liquids and other materials that cannot pass the paint filter test are placed into the solidification pit inside the warehouse building. A front end loader adds sawdust from a stockpile beside the solidification pit to the waste, and an excavator mixes the waste and the sawdust. Once the material in the pit is able to pass the paint filter test, it is removed from the pit by the excavator and loaded into trucks for disposal in an offsite landfill.
