Review Program
(Visit Date):

There is 1 more review conducted prior to 2014 not shown.
Description of Services:Only nonhazardous, petroleum-contaminated soils (PCS) are accepted into the facility in dedicated shipments, by means of dump trucks (predominantly), and roll-off trucks. Containerized soils in 55-gallon drums are occasionally received on stake-bed trucks transported by milk-runs. The facility conducts the following operations:
  • Screening, and then stockpiling of contaminated soil inside a soils building.
  • Thermal desorption of PCS in a single rotary kiln, 30 long by 8' diameter, rated at 50 million BTUs. The unit consists of a feed system, rotary dryer, thermal oxidizer (afterburner), air to air cooler, baghouse and quench system for treated soils. A front-end loader is used to deliver the PCS to the feed system, which maintains a constant flow of PCS to the rotary dryer, via a weigh belt and conveyor. The soil discharge system provides for the re-hydration and cooling of the treated soil. A mixer screw conveyor transports the treated soil to the stacker belt conveyor for stockpiling.
  • Stockpiling treated soils on concrete pads, within concrete bin blocks, or K-rails.
  • Testing of treated soils at a state-certified independent laboratory to ensure effectiveness of the thermal process.
