Description of Services:The facility operations are sorting, shredding, and sizing municipal solid waste and various construction and demolition wastes for later re-use. Wastes accepted include wood, demolition waste, contaminated demolition waste (non-hazardous), roofing debris with and without tar, asphalt waste, sand and dirt, various empty containers, scrap metal, broken stone, glass, plastic, paper, roofing stone, sandblast materials, asbestos (must be packaged in plastic), insulation, green waste, sweepings, sewer sludge, tires, food residue, and fish packing wastes, as well as municipal solid waste. Segregated, processed wastes go to various downstream uses, including recycling for metal, glass, paper, sand, rock, etc., and energy recovery for chipped wood. Suitable downstream facilities are used, usually owned by the van Gansewinkel Group.
