Review Program
(Visit Date):

There is 1 more review conducted prior to 2016 not shown.
Description of Services:The facility receives nonhazardous, industrial wastes, mainly used oil filters (90% of incoming waste), oil-laden absorbents, and tank track (rubberized wheels which comes from the military and is used on military tanks, troop carriers, and other vehicles). The facility also operates five (5), eighteen-wheelers with various types of trailers that bring customer's waste to the site. 70% of incoming waste is handled by Nickco Recycling trucks. A small amount of waste oil in 5-gallon pails from do-it-yourselfers is accepted into the facility, but otherwise bulk used oil is not accepted.

Used oil filters are drained for 24 hours prior to processing through a filter crusher. The crushed filters are allowed to drain another 24 hours, and are then placed into steel cages for introduction into one of two heat treating devices, or pyrolytic furnaces. The treated steel is quenched with water to cool it down, and stockpiled inside the building, or in roll-offs for shipment offsite. The recovered oil, and quench water flows through floor trenches to an oily-water separator. Recovered oils are shipped offsite for energy recovery. Water is stored for reuse in the process.
