Description of Services:The facility conducts the following operations:
  • Various waste oils are consolidated in the bulk storage tanks so as to produce a consistent blended fuel oil product which is suitable for end use as a supplemental fuel. Heat is used to enhance gravitational separation of oil from water and solid components. Oily water is consolidated into tanks, and shipped offsite for treatment at Clean Harbors, S. Portland, ME facility.
  • Drummed loads (and some bulk loads) of punctured and drained used oil filters are processed through a filter crusher (Kruncher unit). The Kruncher unit is rated at 6 drums/hour. Recovered metal is stored in a 20 cubic-yard roll-off, until shipment offiste. Recovered liquids are pumped out and returned to the tank farm for consolidation. Very occasionally, aerosol cans are also crushed in this unit; liquids are drummed and sent off-site for recycling.
  • Spent anti-freeze is consolidated into a single tank, and then shipped offsite to a recycler or to disposal.
  • Oily solids/debris accepted from offsite in drums, or generated onsite, are transferred and stored in a roll-off or dump trailer on the loading/unloading pad. During the site visit, only residual wastes in drums were observed.
