Review Program
(Visit Date):

There is 1 more review conducted prior to 2016 not shown.
Description of Services:The facility has separate processing lines for refurbishing steel drums and plastic drums/Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Open and closed-top steel drums of 15, 30 and 55-gallon size, open and closed-top 55-gallon plastic (poly) drums, and 275-330 gallon IBCs with either poly or stainless steel liquid vessels are accepted. Processing lines have both automated and manual portions, with manual removal of labels and sanding of drums (steel) as applicable, metal straightening and removal of dents, and automated painting and baking (steel drums). Processing lines are conveyorized, thus drum movement is generally automated. Interiors of both poly and steel drums are generally cleaned with sodium hydroxide solution sprayed inside the drums; “hard-to-clean” and solvent or oil-containing steel drums are cleaned with sprayed mineral spirits solvent instead. Rinseate from drum cleaning is treated in separate water treatment systems and discharged to the Los Angeles County Sanitation District sewer and POTW. Spent solvent is collected in steel drums and sent offsite for recycling.
