(Visit Date):

There is 1 more review conducted prior to 2014 not shown.
Description of Services:

The Facility accepts nonhazardous wastewater and nonhazardous used oil only.

Wastewater is batch processed with the treatment process being adjusted (based on the results of treatability testing) for each batch to ensure the end product meets pretreatment standards. In general, the following wastewater steps are typical:

  1. Sediment filtration process to remove large particles;
  2. Chemical precipitation chamber;
  3. Settling tank or DAF and air separation of precipitants;
  4. Filter press;
  5. Sampling, analysis, and discharge (or rerun through the system).

The following is a typical treatment process for used oil:

  1. Treatment with linear alcohol or other chemicals to separate the oil and ash from the water;
  2. Heating to 180 degrees F and oil is held at that temperature with the time depending on treatability tests;
  3. Viscal separation occurs;
  4. Water is sent to through the wastewater treatment process (and eventually discharged to the City of Waycross POTW), the rag layer is sent to sludge treatment, and the oil layer is sent to a tank where it is tested for BTU value and then sent off-site for energy recovery.
