Description of Services:The facility conducts processing and bulking of both nonhazardous and hazardous wastes from the United States and Canada. About 20% of the incoming wastes are from the United States. Wastes accepted include oils, oily waters, leachate, solids, sludges, corrosives, acute toxics, oxidizers, reactives, and materials for transfer to other treatment facilities. Wastes are accepted in both bulk and containers.

The facility has a 90 cubic yard, in-ground, concrete, steel-lined mixing pit for solidification and bulking up of both hazardous and nonhazardous solids and sludges. Since the pit is used for both hazardous and nonhazardous wastes, it is decontaminated when switching between waste classifications. The washwater is classified as hazardous and is placed in one of the onsite tanks designated to store lean aqueous wastes. When a full load (approximately 30,000 liters) is accumulated, the hazardous aqueous wastes are transported to the Clean Harbors facility in Corunna, Ontario for treatment in an incinerator.

The pit is also permitted for chemical stabilization of hazardous wastes, but is not used for that at present time.
