Description of Services:The facility collects scrap tires and recycles them into crumb rubber (used in molded rubber goods, asphalts, sealants, and synthetic turf); rubber mulch for use in landscaping and safety surfacing; tire-derived fuel; drain fill material; and steel wire (extracted during the recycling process). The tire recycling operation involves loading feed hoppers with tires or cut tires using front-end loaders; tires are then ground, with additional conveyors moving material in process from one grinding station to another, to form the final granulated rubber product. Final product particle size is evaluated in the onsite laboratory. Steel cord is removed by magnets during processing, and separately recycled; any rims received with tires are removed and also recycled. Supersacks are generally used to store product.
