| Description of Services: | The facility receives primarily solid wastes in dump trucks, rolloff trucks, trailers, and vans. Materials processed at the facility include wood and paper; glass, plastic, and metal containers; scrap metal; construction debris including asphalt, insulation, and non-friable asbestos; and municipal trash. In addition, some non-hazardous sludges are delivered in rolloff trucks. Materials are sorted using both manual and machine systems and collected in bales and rolloff bins. Large construction/demolition or scrap wood pieces are chipped prior to shipment (contractor with equipment brought onsite). Processing can take from three days to a week. Following processing, chipped wood and other burnable wastes are sent to incinerators. Scrap metal is sent for recycling. Recyclable cardboards and papers are baled and sent to various recyclers in Belgium. Other wastes are sent to a landfill. |
