| Description of Services: | The facility is a permitted transfer/processing facility that autoclaves infectious wastes and transfers pathological/chemotherapeutic waste for offsite incineration. The facility has two redundant and fully-independent systems. These systems include two medical waste autoclaves, two gas-fired boilers, microprocessor-based controls, bin tippers and processed waste compactors. The material handling system is automated, but may be manually controlled. High pressure steam disinfects the waste. Each autoclave’s performance is monitored and documented by continuous chart recorders. Data recorded includes date, time, temperature and pressure. |
