Description of Services:The facility receives electrical distribution transformers, oil-filled reclosure breakers, and step-voltage regulators which are received, drained as required, and rebuilt at this location. A transformer winding workshop on the opposite side of Highway 49 is also used. Transformers are returned to original owners for reuse, while non-rebuildable units are scrapped (cases sent to a steel recycler). Separated copper and aluminum are also recycled offsite. PCB content of oil is tested before transformers are shipped to the facility, and must be <50 ppm PCB concentration. Maximum size of transformers accepted is 10 MVA or 30,000 lb. weight including contained oil (maximum about 3,000 gallons per unit). Transformer oil is sent to offsite recyclers.
