| Description of Services: | The facility reconditions steel and plastic (poly) drums. About 83% are suitable for reconditioning and re-use. Of the total that can be reconditioned, about 75% are steel drums, and about 25% are poly drums. Totes comprise less than 5% of the containers cleaned onsite, but the percent is growing. Of the that are not suitable for reconditioning, about ½ are steel drums that are crushed onsite and sent offsite to a local scrap dealer, and about ½ are poly drums that are granulated onsite and sent offsite to be re-used in plastic piping. The incoming drums are visually inspected at receipt; heavy drums (which are not RCRA empty) are put to the side and returned to the generator. |
