| Description of Services: | The facility accepts ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal directly from scrap generators and private citizens. The scrap consists of auto hulks, old machinery, metal framing, and other steel scrap. End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) are brought onsite for depollution, baling and shipment off-site to the Southern Recycling New Orleans facility for shredding. Scrap metal is received and unloaded in the ferrous yard, at the ELV area, or in the nonferrous area. Ferrous metal is sorted and may be sized by torch cutting or shearing and shipped by truck or barge. Nonferrous metal is sorted and shipped by truck. |
