| Description of Services: | The facility blends liquid and solid hazardous wastes to formulate fuel primarily for the two adjacent cement kilns. When the kilns are down, fuel may be shipped to other cement plants. Hazardous waste received at the facility includes: used oil, lubricants and solvents, material impregnated with oil, lubricant or solvent; paint; plastic materials and other solids. All wastes that arrive at the facility are first analyzed for heating value, moisture, PCBs and chloride content. If receipt analyses reveal that the waste is not suitable for blending on site, it is sent for final disposal at another facility with the authorization of the generator. Reportedly, this is not a common practice. |
