Description of Services: | Apliquim mainly operates as a fluorescent light tube disassembly, and mercury recovery plant, however other mercury-containing items, such as activated charcoal, scrap, thermometers, amalgams, batteries containing mercury and contactors, glass contaminated with mercury, and drums contaminated with mercury may also be accepted. According to the POC, although the permit states that liquid wastes may be received, no liquid wastes are accepted. All wastes received must have a mercury component - 99.9% of all wastes are lamps; other types of wastes, such as soil, and debris contaminated with mercury may be accepted after testing to ensure that there are no contaminants other than mercury. Distilled mercury is sold offsite to various customers. |
