Description of Services:The PFFL facility primarily consists of two tanks farms (an associated equipment), a stormwater retention area, a nonhazardous and hazardous waste drum storage building, an office trailer, outside drum storage area, vehicle parking area, and unloading/loading area for tanker trucks. PFFL is a used oil processor that performs the following operations:
  • Used Oil: Transports, treats (chemically using a de-emulsifier and physical separation in tanks), stores and markets used oil collected from outside generators (cruiseline and automotive industries and various manufacturing facilities). The treated oil is tested twice a month for “on-spec” or “off-spec” oil. The recycled used oil is sold primarily to asphalt plants as No. 5 on-spec industrial fuel.
  • Oily Water: Stores, treats (physical separation), and ships oily water offsite for further processing.
  • Hazardous Waste: Operates as a 10-day transfer facility which receives hazardous waste in drums, including paint wastes/thinners, industrial wastewater, contaminated sludges, and antifreeze. Hazardous waste is stored in a covered building for trans-shipment to Perma-Fix of Orlando, Perma-Fix of South Georgia, and Perma-Fix of Florida for treatment.
  • Non-hazardous Waste: Stores and transports non-hazardous solids (primarily oily solids) which are disposed at an offsite sanitary landfill.
  • Used Oil Filters: Stores and transports used oil filters collected from outside generators for offsite.
  • Universal Waste: Collects, stores, and trans-ships universal waste (lighting ballasts, batteries, and E-scrap) for further processing and recovery offsite.
