Description of Services:Gannon & Scott, Phoenix (GSP) reclaims precious metals from secondary materials provided from various industrial and commercial customers. The facility accepts hazardous and nonhazardous secondary materials, such as jewelry scrap, printed circuit boards, electrical components, plating solutions, sludges, rags and wipes that contain gold, silver, platinum palladium and rhodium. Commodities generated include base bars of precious metal alloy ingots, 55-gallon drums of powdered precious metal bearing materials (prepared sweeps), and bulk boxes of shredded material.

Most materials are shipped to the facility in 55-gallon drums and bulk boxes. The process for reclaiming metals is dictated by the type of feedstock. Unit processes include: evaporation/drying of liquids, thermal reduction (incineration), crushing and milling of solids, screening for metallics, blending of solids, shredding, melting of metals, and electrowinning solutions. Two intermediate products are produced: pelletized ingots, or bars of metal, and drums of powdered precious metal bearing materials referred to as prepared sweeps.
