Review Program
(Visit Date):

There are 4 more reviews conducted prior to 2013 not shown.

Description of Services:The facility has a small office, concrete oil receiving pits, a large 30,000-barrel oil receiving tank, and several above ground tank batteries (41 400- and 500- barrel tanks) used for oil heating, oil/water separation, and associated storage (some of the tanks are not in use at this time). Oil is heated to 180-200 degrees F., with demulsifier added as required for emulsion breaking and oil/water separation. Settled solids and other solids received are processed in the centrifuge to remove any residual oil and water. Separated water is eventually trucked to deep well injection facilities in the area (Triple M Saltwater Disposal, Kilgore, TX, or Sabine Disposal Services, Sabine, TX), while solids are blended with petroleum-contaminated soil for use as a road base. Recovered oil is shipped to refineries for process feed. Soil product is analyzed for metals/TCLP, while oil is checked (offsite laboratory) for any remaining water and solids (water by distillation, and solids by extraction). Heat is provided by a 4.2 million BTU/hr., natural gas fired only steam boiler located in a shed onsite. A larger oil heating unit nearby is not in use.

Contaminated and blended solids and soils known as oil dirt are processed on site for sale to be used for road base. The unprocessed oil and soil and the processed oil dirt are stockpiled in dedicated areas in the west portion of the site, along with empty drums. Soils are accepted in drums; however there are usually few drums onsite. Empty drums are cleaned and sent to a steel scrap recycler, or shredded and landfilled offsite (plastic drums).
